BLM Donation Page Run by 'Democratic,' 'Progressive' ActBlue Platform

It’s interesting to pull back the curtain on different organizations that have questionable practices and find out who some of the people are behind these “movements.” The “Marxist” Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization is no different, appearing to accept donations through another organization that funds “Democrats” and “progressives.”

If you click the “donate” link on the homepage of BLM’s website it directs you to a “Fund the Movement” page, which is run by ActBlue Charities. In fact, the link to the donation page is on ActBlue’s website and not BLM’s.

The page notes that “Your contribution will benefit Black Lives Matter Global Network.”

According to the ActBlue organization’s “About” page on their website:

As a nonprofit, we’re driven by the belief that our democracy works better when more people participate in civic life and when our campaigns and nonprofits are powered by the people they serve. That’s why we’ve built a powerful online fundraising platform for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, progressive organizations, and nonprofits. Our tools make it possible for anyone to build a grassroots campaign or movement and give donors an easy and secure way to support their favorite candidates and causes.

We want as many groups as possible to be able to create strong grassroots fundraising programs. Our platform is available to Democratic candidates and committees, progressive organizations, and nonprofits that share our values for no cost besides a 3.95% processing fee on donations. And we operate as a conduit, which means donations made through ActBlue to a campaign or organization are considered individual donations.

BLM could’ve chosen any organization — even their own — to handle donations. But, they didn’t. They chose an organization that, by their very own words, is a “platform for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot” and “progressive organizations.”

This kind of connection may admittedly be totally benign, but it does raise even more questions as to whether or not BLM is merely about raising awareness for black lives.
