Country star Blake Shelton on Tuesday was crowned People magazine’s 2017 “Sexiest Man Alive,” and Twitter is none too pleased.

"I don't want to live in a world where Blake Shelton is the Sexiest Man Alive," said one Twitter user.

"How can you trust straight people when they chose Blake Shelton as the sexiest among them," said another.

Many asked how Shelton could be chosen over people like "Luther" star Idris Elba, "Captain America" Chris Evans, and "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam, to name a few.

One Twitter user said that all of the other eligible candidates must have "fell off the planet last night."

It takes some serious effort to find a positive tweet about the news.

The memes of shock and confusion flooded social media Tuesday night after the big reveal.

Even Shelton said that he couldn’t believe it when he first heard the news.

“Y’all must be running out of people,” "The Voice" judge told People. “Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”

He said that his girlfriend of two years, singer Gwen Stefani, encouraged him to embrace the title.

“She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment,” said Shelton.

“I’ve been ugly my whole life, if I can be sexy for a year, I’m taking it. I’m taking it,” he added.

He took to Twitter Tuesday night to make light of the honor.

Shelton told People that his favorite part about the title is being able to brag about it to his The Voice co-star Adam Levine.

“I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s a**,” Shelton said. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”

Levine was People’s 2013 “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Shelton beat out Zac Efron, 50 Cent, Ryan Gosling, and the leading male cast of NBC’s hit show “This is Us” among others for the title this year.

Actor and producer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had the crown in 2016.
