Bill Gates: Another Major Financial Crisis in U.S. ‘A Certainty’

Monica Sanchez | March 7, 2018

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warns Americans that another financial crisis like the one in 2008 that led to the Great Recession “is a certainty.”

During a Reddit “Ask Me Anything,” Gates was asked whether the U.S. will have to face another crisis similar to the one in 2008, to which he replied, “Yes.”

“It is hard to say when but this is a certainty,” he said.

Gates added, “Fortunately, we got through that one reasonably well."

A business magnate, investor, author and philanthropist, Gates is the second richest man in the world, only recently dethroned as number one by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

While Gates expressed that another financial crisis is inevitable, he ended his response on a more reassuring note:

"Despite this prediction of bumps ahead, I am quite optimistic about how innovation and capitalism will improve the situation for humans everywhere," he said.

For climate alarmists, Gates also said that he is “optimistic we will figure out how to avoid destroying the planet.”

He said that contrary to popular opinion, growing the world economy does not necessarily correlate with depleting the Earth’s natural resources, as “most resources don’t get ‘destroyed.’”
