Ah, the 4th of July — a time for patriotism, recollecting American traditions, and celebrating our nation’s independence through fireworks, barbecues, and other festivities.

It’s usually a time of relaxation and summer fun. Inflation, however, may just throw a wrench in things. Thanks, Joe!

Let’s begin with traveling to visit family, usually a staple of 4th of July celebrations. This year, unfortunately, it’ll cost you. The price of gas has soared to nearly $5 per gallon, making summer road trips more costly than one might expect.

The classic 4th of July barbecue—a crucial part of any respectable Independence Day celebration, has become more expensive too.

Per CNBC, the cost of ground beef is up 13.6 percent since Independence Day 2021, and burger buns are up 8.7 percent. Joining them are the price of chicken (up 17.4 percent), snacks (up 13.6 percent), soda (up 13.2 percent), and hot dogs (up 10.4 percent).

Let’s not forget fireworks, another key aspect of the holiday. No surprise here. Bruce Zoldan, president and CEO of Phantom Fireworks explained, “I would say from 2019 till ’22, items' (costs) have at least doubled.”

But don’t worry. Biden insists that things aren’t that bad.

Joe claims we are in the midst of “the most robust recovery in modern history,” and his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, has reassured us that “the economy is in a better place than it has been historically.”

Just don't look inside your wallet at the end of the holiday celebrations.
