Just days after sparking backlash on social media for dictatorially declaring that a supposedly free American must “get vaccinated or wear a mask” per the new “rules” set by unelected CDC bureaucrats, President Joe Biden said Monday that the unvaccinated will end up “paying the price” for not lining up for government-recommended jabs.
“Ultimately, those who are not vaccinated will pay — end up paying the price. The vaccinated will continue to be protected against severe illnesses, but others may not be if you’re not vaccinated,” Biden said during his remarks on the federal government’s vaccination program.
"We are not done fighting this virus," he added. "We still have tens of millions left to vaccinate. But we are making significant progress."
Biden then once again sought to take credit for the vaccine and the rollout plan developed under President Donald Trump, crediting his own administration for "creating" a historic number of jobs - jobs that haven't been newly created, but simply opened back up to workers as states rolled back their COVID shutdown mandates.
"As a result of our prompt action to roll out the vaccine and boost the economy, we’ve gone from stagnation to an economy that is growing faster than it has in nearly 40 years. We’ve gone from anemic job creation to a record of creation for more — for a new administration. None has ever created this many jobs in this timeframe," Biden deceptively claimed.
But the vaccine rollout - and the dismal jobs reports that have come out in the meantime - have been far less smooth than the president's remarks suggest.
The Biden administration has so far struggled to convince millions of Americans to get the vaccine, even after opening up the availability of the shot to the general public several weeks back. So far, only 124 million Americans – less than 40 percent of the entire national population – has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The administration has come under fire for sending mixed messages about the efficacy of the vaccine, urging people to get The Jab to protect them against the virus while at the same time saying fully vaccinated people must continue to wear masks, socially distance, and observe most of the same safety “rules” as those who aren’t vaccinated. Only in the last week has the now Biden-led CDC updated their “guidance” to say fully vaccinated people can safely ditch their masks and go about life as normal in the vast majority of spaces – while still saying everyone should mask up on public transportation and in schools and hospitals.
