Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is taking his push to force people to wear masks a step further than he did just a week ago when he said he would “ask the public for 100 days to mask.” Well, he’s not asking anymore.
Here’s what Biden said during his Tuesday press conference from the “Office of the President Elect”:
First, my first hundred days is going to require, I’m going to ask for a masking plan. Everyone for the first 100 days of my administration to wear a mask.
It will start with my signing an order on day one to require masks where I can under the law, like federal buildings, interstate travel on planes, trains and buses. I’ll also be working with the governors and mayors to do the same in their states and their cities. We’re going to require masks wherever possible.
Biden took his prospective action a step further by attempting to appeal to people’s emotional and gullible sides.
“It’s not a political statement,” Biden said. “It’s a patriotic act.”
I had no idea wearing a mask against your will was a patriotic act.
