Biden On If He and Kamala Harris Ever Disagree: 'I'll Develop Some Disease and Say I Have to Resign'

Joe Biden made what was perhaps the most awkward comment thus far in his road to the White House, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that if he happens to disagree with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on any fundamental issue while he’s president, he’ll just “develop some disease and say I have to resign."

“We are simpatico on our philosophy of government, simpatico on how we want to approach these issues that we are facing. And when we disagree, it’ll be…so far, it’s been just like Barack and I did. It’ll be in private.”

“If I reach something where there’s a fundamental disagreement we have based on a moral principle, I'll develop some disease and say I have to resign,” he said – and didn’t laugh.

And neither did Harris. Or anyone, actually. In fact, it really didn't seem to be much of a joke.

Of course, Tapper was all too happy to let the weird comment slide without any follow-up.

At already 77 years old and clearly struggling to maintain his mental faculties, some on the right have speculated that Biden may simply be a Trojan horse to help get the much more progressive Harris – who’s unlikely to ever be elected on her own – into the Oval Office.
