President Joe Biden offered a less-than-reassuring response to the question of whether Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is planning to nuke the United States in retaliation for western nations hitting his country with sanctions over his invasion of Ukraine, saying he has “no idea” what Putin’s plans for vengeance may include.
“This statement that he gave last night – the threat that he gave – that the West will face consequences greater than any you have faced in history. Is he threatening a nuclear strike?” an ABC reporter asked.
“I have no idea what he is threatening,” Biden responded, adding simply, “I know what he has done.”
"No one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening. This is going to take time. And we have to show resolve, so that he knows what’s coming. So the people of Russia know what he’s brought on them. That’s what this is all about," Biden said.
