The Biden administration has had a disastrous record of allowing illegal immigrants to make their way into the country. This fiscal year alone, over 1.5 million illegal immigrants have been recorded crossing onto American soil - and those are just the ones who were apprehended.
As if things weren’t bad already, the Biden administration is further advancing the cause of making life even more convenient for illegal immigrants in America, incentivizing further illegal border crossings.
Late last week, Axios released an article detailing Biden’s plan to issue government ID cards to illegal immigrants, giving them easier access to public benefits once they are released into the U.S. - benefits including housing, healthcare, and transportation.
According to Axios, the ID cards are only temporary while these immigrants “await a final decision on their cases, according to two government sources familiar with the planning.” But, as the wise Milton Friedman once said, “Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.”

If we know anything from experience, when it comes to illegal immigration, we know that the Department of Homeland Security cares about anything but our homeland security. Time and time again, the DHS has out of their own volition allowed - and even brought - illegal aliens into the country, including sneakily flying border crossers into other cities and states, attempting to significantly limit deportation, and even allowing up to one thousand illegal migrants onto flights using their arrest warrants as IDs.
As for the new ID cards, according to Axios, “The administration is hoping to get needed Congressional approval before the end of September to roll out a pilot — before a potential Republican takeover in November.”
The IDs could also be used by illegal immigrants for easier access to flights. In effect, this disastrous policy would police more illegals into the country and increase their chances of permanent residence in the U.S.
