Somewhere in the Bible, God proclaims that vengeance will be His - and Bette Midler thinks that particular verse sums up the entire winter debacle in the Lone Star State.

The singer, songwriter, actress, author, comedian, and self described “people’s diva” tweeted a post indicating that the dreadful winter storms currently pummeling Texas are divine retribution against Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and John Cornyn (R-TX) for not recognizing Joe Biden as president.

Yup. According to Midler, God is definitely a registered member of the Democrat Party, and He's as furious as any American liberal over the behavior of the Republicans.

Or, as another theory, Midler’s a fool. God’s interested in souls, not politics. He wouldn’t have sent His Son to be crucified for people's sins if He preferred the latter over the former.

It should also be noted that Cornyn wasn’t even among the Republicans who objected to the certification of the 2020 presidential election, according to the Washington Examiner.

Once again, Midler is putting her ignorance of religion on full display. It would actually be funny if she wasn’t so serious about it.
