While ‘90s nostalgia is a common inspiration for Halloween costumes, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was instructed to “eat shit and die” after she chose to dress up as Ms. Frizzle from “The Magic School Bus.”
According to a report by The Hill, DeVos dressed up as Ms. Frizzle for the White House Halloween celebration. DeVos was quickly attacked for her choice to dress up as a popular character related to her job — education:

Vice claimed DeVos’s pick earned her the title of “This Year’s Scariest Halloween Costume.” Newsweek claimed DeVos was wearing a “Progressive ‘Magic School Bus’ Costume While Stripping Student Protections.’”
The criticism of DeVos in the Vice and Newsweek articles don’t have anything to do with DeVos allegedly not supporting science education or wanting to destroy public education, but her support for charter schools and her move that rescinded the Obama-era Title IX policies that formed kangaroo courts to deal with sexual assault.
