In response to the recent bombshell revelations by former interim DNC chair Donna Brazile, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) says it is “abundantly clear” there needs to be "real change" in the Democratic Party.

“Donna Brazile’s recent book makes it abundantly clear how important it is to bring fundamental reforms to the Democratic Party,” writes Bernie in an op-ed published on Friday. “The party cannot remain an institution largely dominated by the wealthy and inside-the-Beltway consultants. It must open its doors and welcome into its ranks millions of working people and young people who desperately want to be involved in determining the future of our nation.”

He added that if the Democratic Party is to succeed, “we must fully appreciate Brazile’s revelations and understand the need for far more transparency.”

“Finally, if we are to succeed, we must fully appreciate Brazile’s revelations and understand the need for far more transparency in the financial and policy workings of the Democratic Party,” Sanders writes. “Hundreds of millions of dollars flow in and out of the Democratic National Committee with little to no accountability. That simply is not acceptable.”

“At a time when we have a Republican president and Republican Party whose leadership and agenda are strongly opposed by the American people, now is the time for real change,” he continues. “It is critical that we come together and reform the Democratic Party. When we do that, we will win local, state and national elections and transform our country.”

Brazile in her new book “Hacks” reveals that the 2016 Democratic primary election was rigged in favor of Bernie’s then-competitor Hillary Clinton.

She claims that the Clinton campaign entered into a fundraising deal with the DNC that undercut Sanders’ chances at winning the party’s nomination.

Brazile now is attempting to walk back her own words, claiming in media interviews this week that the 2016 primary was a fair fight.

She also now denies that she leaked debate questions to the Clinton campaign ahead of a primary debate, allegations that she had admitted to after the election.

Clinton responded to the Brazile allegations in an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Wednesday, claiming that she “didn’t know what [Brazile] was referring to, because as has now come out, that just wasn’t the case.”

A new Rasmussen poll reveals that only 32 percent of Americans think Clinton won the Democratic presidential nomination fairly.
