Less than a week after socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dropped out of the 2020 Democratic field for president, the 78-year-old endorsed Democratic frontrunner and former vice president under President Barack Obama, Joe Biden.

Sanders asked his supporters, as well as voters across the ideological gamut, to join him in supporting Biden for president this fall.

"I am asking all Americans, I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse to make certain that we defeat somebody who I believe - and I'm  speaking just for myself now - is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country," Sanders said during Biden's Monday livestream on YouTube.

Sanders also went on to repeat the pair's criticisms of President Donald Trump's response to the COVID-19 pandemic before they commenced a question-and-answer session between the two.

Sanders bowing out of the race last week left Biden as the lone candidate remaining in the Democratic field. The senator from Vermont was the last challenger to Biden's race to his party's nomination after Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) dropped out on March 19th

Gabbard also endorsed Biden for president.
