Lush, the beauty brand that is known for its liberal political activism and bath bombs, is apologizing for making social media posts informing people about the health risks related to obesity.

As part of an advertisement campaign for the film “What the Health,” Lush posted images on Instagram displaying facts and statistics about health. After simply posting information related to obesity, Lush was accused of “fat-shaming.”

The allegedly controversial and offensive posts, that have since been removed, reportedly include:

Not only did Lush delete the posts after mass outrage, but they also issued an apology.

In the apology, Hilary, Lush’s Ethics Director, appears holding flowers in an image with the text, “Sorry,” written on it.

The caption for the apology reads, “I want to say a truly sincere sorry regarding our previous posts, which have caused some of you to reach out raising concerns re body image issues and fat shaming. I am in total agreement and there is no meaningful defence I could tender for the offending post. The only people we have shamed on this occasion are ourselves!”

Hilary claims the advertisements for the film do not properly represent “diversity and inclusion.”

In addition to apologizing for stating facts about health and groveling to the hate mob, Hilary asked followers on social media to help come up with ideas for an event to focus on “body image issues.”

Apparently, discussing the risk of heart disease from obesity is not an appropriate “body image” issue.
