African Americans are not pleased with doctors and other medical professionals who use “gender-neutral” terms.
A recent poll by Do No Harm reveals that there is an increased number of people in the medical field who are using leftist gender-neutral terms. Terms such as “birthing person” instead of “mother” have become increasingly more common since the term “mother” would imply that only a woman can give birth. These terms are meant to further the radical leftist gender ideology by trying to imply that men and women alike can birth children.
However, the poll also found that African Americans are extremely critical of such gender-fluid terms. Roughly 93% of African Americans said that “mother” is better than the term “birthing person.” 91% of black women preferring the term with 94.9% of black men agreeing.
African Americans were also strongly opposed to terms like “chestfeeding” as opposed to “breastfeeding” with 93.6% of them in favor of “breastfeeding.”
Do No Harm senior fellow Benita Cotton-Orr commented on these results, telling The Daily Wire that prioritizing competence is the “only way to restore the trust” in the medical field.
“Our polling proves that the ideologues pushing nonsensical identity politics in medicine are out of touch with the very people they claim to speak for. Black Americans are rejecting the push to redefine race and gender in medicine in furtherance of a progressive political agenda,” Cotton-Orr explained. “The data proves that, like patients of all backgrounds, minority patients want doctors that are highly-qualified and don’t indulge in identity politics. Prioritizing medical excellence for patients’ individual needs is the only way to restore the trust that has been eroded.”
Unfortunately, so many aspects have been unnecessarily politicized. Healthcare has been ruined by prioritizing “gender inclusivity” and “diversity” to the point that it is no longer scientific and therefore untrustworthy.
