It’s like a prerequisite for being a far-left, communist member of Congress is acting classes, because in the weeks since the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 they have been laying on the drama so thick that daytime soap opera actresses would be jealous. Their rhetoric, which has been panned by some as hyperbolic and allegedly revealed as lies by others, does nothing to help anyone but themselves. After all, that’s who these politicians primarily serve.

Taking her turn to push her divisive rhetoric this time is “Squad” member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.).

Pressley joined CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” on Sunday in a segment CNN called, “Reflecting on the Capitol Attack One Month Later.” The Massachusetts congresswoman went on and on repeating the same talking points we’ve heard over the past month — that the events of Jan. 6 were carried out by white supremacist domestic terrorists targeting Democrats because they’re afraid of equality.

Pressley then went on to compare the Capitol events to slavery and subjugation, claiming that she felt “those moments of terror,” which was “familiar in a deep and ancestral way for me.”

“As a black woman, to be barricaded in my office using office furniture and water bottles on the ground in the dark, that terror, those moments of terror, is familiar in a deep and ancestral way for me,” Pressley told Tapper.

Pressley went on to describe her “outrage” at “black custodial staff “ having to pick up on January 6 after “the mess left by that violent, white supremacist mob.”

“One of the images that I'm haunted by is the Black custodial staff cleaning up the mess left by that violent white supremacist mob,” Pressley continued. “That is a metaphor for America. We have been cleaning up after violent, white supremacist mobs for generations and it must end. So impeach, expel, investigate.”

Let’s forget all the white supremacist rhetoric for a second. We hear about that everyday as if that's the real pandemic. Look at the last sentence Pressley said in the quote above.

“So impeach, expel, investigate.”

Maybe it’s just me and my dumb practice of employing common sense, reason and logic into things. But, shouldn’t the order of what Pressley said the government should do be reversed? How do you essentially convict people of things before you investigate? An investigation typically lets you know whether a governing body should pursue action against a person, group or entity.

This is the problem with our government, and it’s not just exclusive to one party. How are we the people supposed to take these politicians seriously when the people have a higher level of intelligence, common sense, reason, logic and decency than the people we elect?

It’s just goes to show that the old saying is true: The people that should run for office never do.
