Delaware Democratic Sen. Tom Carper fell all over himself Monday in an awkward attempt on live TV to use the Bible to defend Democrats’ impeachment of President Donald Trump. There was just one problem – he couldn’t remember the Scripture verse.

“In the Book of James, there’s a verse that says….um….something, people… “something-by-your-words,” Carper tried to explain to the Fox News hosts.

“Oh yeah. 'People may not remember what you say, but they’ll remember what you do.' Something to that effect. We need the truth,” he clumsily ended.

But as embarassing as the exchange may have been, don't feel too bad for Carper - he's joined a fun new club! In fact, from Nancy Pelosi quoting Scripture verses that don't actually exist to from AOC using God's Word to harp on climate change, many leftist politicians have invoked the Bible on many occasions to defend their own political platforms.

Those didn't go so well either.
