Things took a turn for the super awkward Tuesday after an MSNBC reporter dropped a string of profanity live on the air.

The no good, very bad moment came after anchor Craig Melvin tried to ask NBC News correspondent Ken Dilanian to expound on reports that the Trump administration wasn’t working with the Biden team to create a transition plan amid the president’s ongoing lawsuits over the vote count.

“Ken Dilanian has some new reporting on something that we talked about at the top of the hour: How the Trump administration is handling the transition with the incoming Biden team – or, not handling, we should say to a certain extent,” Melvin said.

“This time it involves our intelligence community. Ken, what have you learned sir?” Melvin asked Dilanian, with whom he shared a split screen.

Apparently not realizing he was on camera with his mic on, Dilanian responded, “Oh, sh*t. F***.”

The network then switched back to Melvin, who blamed “technical difficulties” while akwardly trying to smooth over the blunder, saying, “OK, I think we lost Ken for a second. We’ll try to get him back there.”

After a few moments, Dilanian returned on screen and apologized.

"First I want to sincerely apologize to viewers who may have heard me use profanity at the top of the last hit,” he said.

Dilanian later tweeted he’d been “experiencing some technical difficulties and mistakenly hung up on the control room, though my mic still was on,” blaming the “perils of playing producer, cameraman and tech support all at the same time from home. #2020.”
