Art historian and BBC star Dan Cruickshank was filmed by the British television company while viewing videos of ISIS destroying ancient pieces of art and culture.

Many have publicized the grotesque and hellish executions that the Islamic State has committed, but few have talked about the cultural genocide taking place by their hands.

Pieces of art that are many thousands of years old have been unceremoniously destroyed by simple tools like sledgehammers and pickaxes.

And BBC captured Cruickshank's reactions live on film. His expressions at some points are simply depressing, knowing that items he has spent a lifetime learning about and discovering have now been smashed to pieces.
