Socialist, anti-capitalist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has apparently dipped her foot into capitalism by selling merchandise.
At the “AOC” shop, you can get everything from posters and hats, to t-shirts and mugs -- even onesies! All of her merchandise has slogans of potential activist policies that she believes in, including ‘The Green New Deal,’ ‘Abolish Ice,’ and ‘Drink Water And Don’t Be Racist,’ as well as generic “AOC” merch.
The real hilarity is that she offers a ‘Tax The Rich’ sweatshirt at a cost of $58, which is not cheap. Can her base even afford a sweatshirt that costs that much?
The only people that might presumably purchase a $60 sweatshirt are college students with rich parents, who will then call their mommy and daddy to ask for more money.
Ocasio-Cortez has caused a social media firestorm with people calling out her hypocrisy.
AOC has a store where she’s selling shirts... otherwise known as capitalism pic.twitter.com/EfMT9ZAsGN

You can't make this shit up.

Against Others Capitalism has her own online merch shop.
She's charging almost $30 bucks for a tote bag.
Almost $60 for a sweatshirt.
That says "Tax The Rich."
"Tax. The. Rich."

Even some of her supporters aren’t super fond of the prices:
Hi @AOC, I’m a major supporter but only an intern and cannot afford your $58 sweatshirts. Do you have a discount code for the less fortunate? Thanks! pic.twitter.com/qQOIUaVFIq

Obviously some people are coming to her defense, saying that they are union made:
Everyone: @AOC is selling a "tax the rich" sweatshirt for $58! That's way too expensive.

Me, a former mass market apparel designer: Made in America. Union printed. Sounds about right. That's what it costs to pay everyone a decent wage along the way. #TaxTheRich pic.twitter.com/afPZ6quQmZ
The irony of an anti-capitalist selling anti-capitalist merchandise via capitalism is lost on her supporters. The website claims the "Tax The Rich" sweatshirt has recently "sold out" - as well.
