A Florida man has been arrested after police say he stabbed his pro-Trump boss to death and covered his body with an American flag following what authorities suspect was an argument over their differing views on government.

Mason Trever Toney, a 28-year-old construction worker, was arrested Monday after witnesses say he was seen stabbing his boss, with whom he was allegedly friends, repeatedly with a trowel at around 10:45 a.m. Monday. Another worker reportedly called 911 to report the incident.

Local reports state that police found 28-year-old William Knight lying dead next to an excavator and covered with a brand new American flag, which they suspect Toney was carrying inside his backpack.

Toney was reportedly known around the construction site for being a vocal opponent of the government, which he alleged was “out to get him,” reports stated. Witness said the two got into an argument before the fatal stabbing, likely about their differing views on the government. Knight was an outspoken Trump supporter.

Witnesses told police they tried to stop the attack, but that Toney jumped into a stolen truck and fled the scene while calling the witnesses "terrorists," clickorlando.com reports.

Toney is being held in Orange County’s jail without bond.
