Lao Tzu once said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And while the journey to round up the some-167,000 criminal aliens currently loose throughout American communities is probably longer than a thousand miles, one step is at least a move in the right direction.

Immigration officials recently announced they rounded up another 188 illegal aliens with criminal convictions in three separate sting operations held over the past week.

On Tuesday, ICE reported that agents arrested 75 criminal aliens in Texas between April 1 and 3, including multiple convicted drug dealers, a 37-Mexican man charged with aggravated battery, and multiple felons who had re-entered the United States after having been previously deported following a criminal conviction.

Also on Tuesday, ICE announced another operation held in New York had yielded 31 arrests of criminal aliens. Twelve had been convicted of Driving Under the Influence, while another was found guilty of third-degree rape.

In a separate operation held across parts of Virginia and Washington, D.C., another 82 criminal aliens were arrested including a Somali man with an extensive record in his home country the included grave human rights abuses. Also included in the list were several felony drug dealers, a previously deported MS-13 gang member and at least two illegal aliens convicted of grand larceny.

In addition to these 188 arrestees, ICE had previously reported that another 237 criminal aliens were arrested by immigration officials in two recent operations across the Pacific Northwest and Texas, respectively.

Altogether, ICE has claimed 425 arrests of criminal aliens in the past two weeks alone.
