Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell spoke on The Scott Jennings Radio Show on Friday, July 22, to celebrate a conservative victory as Congress recently defunded PBS and NPR.

For over thirty years, MRC and its former president, Brent Bozell, had boldly pushed for Congress to defund the taxpayer-funded giants due to their bias and harmful content. Finally, MRC’s hard work has paid off.

For years, Republicans were terrified to be blamed for defunding the network giants and “killing” Big Bird, but Bozell gave his thanks to the brave souls who didn’t allow public opinion to sway their beliefs:

I gotta give special thanks to my father for the vision, for what he created at MRC. I gotta give thanks to President Trump for sticking to this promise of defunding PBS and NPR. Many a nominee, Republican nominee, has made that same promise. Many a Republican president has made that same promise. And they never followed through, but [Trump] did.

Bozell, MRC, and Trump finally took down an organization that consistently shot itself in the foot through a 42-to-1 disparity of left-wing bias in the past several months.

This bias, along with the additional 93% negative coverage towards President Trump during his presidency, is what Bozell found “most shocking.”

Bozell pointed to the final nail in the coffin for NPR and PBS this past month when their local stations in Kerrville, Texas, refused to host police departments on air to warn local communities about the ravaging floods and provide recovery information.

Instead, their social media continued to lobby people to contact congressmen and senators to prevent them from being defunded.

Bozell denounced this behavior as criminal, illustrating their dishonesty when they bragged on Capitol Hill for being the only ones who could provide local service.

Bozell and MRC are very proud of this conservative victory. Now, the American people’s tax dollars will not go to NPR and PBS. “I wish them the best of luck in the free market,” Bozell said.
