MRC Senior Fellow, Lt. Col. Allen West, was released from the hospital Monday afternoon following a motorcycle accident on Saturday.
The significance of the day was not lost on West, according to KWTX-TV:
“My dad is buried at Marietta National Cemetery. My father-in-law is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. So I just thank them for their service and sacrifice in World War II and Vietnam and I just want to let my dad know and my father-in-law know that I’m still a trooper. And old soldiers, we don’t quit.”
West was on his drive back from the “Free Texas Rally” in Austin, TX, when he was involved in an accident when a car cut in front of him Saturday evening.
West suffered a concussion, several fractures and multiple lacerations. He was thankful for the prayers offered to him while in the hospital.
