As more and more women come forward with sexual assault allegations against powerful Hollywood figures, Alec Baldwin admits that he himself has “bullied women” during his career.

In an onstage discussion at The Paley Center for Media in New York City on Thursday, the Emmy-winning actor and “30 Rock” star said that he has “treated women in a very sexist way” in the past and “really” would like things to change.

"I certainly have treated women in a very sexist way,” said Baldwin. “I've bullied women. I've overlooked women. I've underestimated women. Not as a rule.”

"From time to time, I've done what a lot of men do,” he continued, “which is... when you don't treat women the same way you treat men. You don't. I'm from a generation where you really don't and I'd like that to change. I really would like that to change."

On the explosion of sexual assault and harassment allegations in Hollywood after several women came forward accusing media mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, Baldwin said that he had heard “rumors of things happening to people” but that he was not aware of the “scope” of the problem.

“I knew of certain things, that there were rumors of things happening to people, but I didn’t necessarily know the scope, when you hear the hundreds and hundreds of women who are complaining about this,” he said, while accepting an honor in recognition of his career and his support for The Paley Center..

“It’s been a very eye-opening experience for me personally,” said Baldwin. “We’ve got to be vigilant in a new way to make sure that everybody is comfortable and that we get the job done together that we’re there to do.”

Baldwin also talked about his famous impression of President Trump on NBC's Saturday Night Live, saying that he didn't think it would be a long-term gig, because he “lived in a world where it was presumed [Trump] wasn’t gonna win."
