Alabama state Rep. John Rogers made a vile argument for abortion - that it is necessary in cases where the child is unwanted, or you just end up killing the child later.
“Some kids are unwanted. So you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair,” Rogers said.
Rogers' speech was part of an effort by Democratic state lawmakers to filibuster a bill that would make it a felony in Alabama to perform an abortion at any stage of a pregnancy -- with a sole exemption for women whose health is at risk.
According to Fox News, Rogers kept up his disgusting argument by claiming the "unwanted" child will be “retarded” and “half-deformed.”
The measure passed with a 74-3 vote. The bill will now advance to the state Senate.
