Amber Heard (she’s an actress who was married to Johnny Depp for about five minutes, in case you don't know her) may’ve just tweeted one of the most cringeworthy hot takes on illegal immigration ever. It was so bad, in fact, that even the left called her out on it.
In a now-deleted tweet, Heard suggested Tuesday that her fellow Hollywood elitists give their household servants a ride home in the evening to help them avoid immigration checkpoints – a statement that many were quick to call out for its blatant racism and snobbery. (Not to mention Heard’s blunt admission that she -- and most of Hollywood, actually -- knowingly employs undocumented workers against federal law.)
Heard’s tweet had wracked up nearly a thousand negative responses from both the right and the pro-illegal immigration left before the actress quickly deleted it, later complaining that the pushback over her blatantly insensitive tweet had “distracted” from the “real issues.”
With this human rights crisis being so politicized, it is hard to make a simple statement w/out it being used to distract from the real issues. Its hard for everyone to not be negatively affected by this subject n some way. pic.twitter.com/nZ0PrMet4G— Amber Heard (@realamberheard) July 3, 2018
No, Amber. That’s just what happens when you inadvertently admit your only use for illegal aliens is that they clean your toilets for below-minimum wage so you don’t have to chip a nail.
