Not only does Daniels "talk the talk but he walks the walk" when it comes to being country. Daniels has a real working ranch which he works on. He knows how to rope and corral cattle.

Before Charlie Daniels was famous a very famous musician picked up one of the songs he wrote. Elvis Presley ended up singing the song It Hurts Me which Daniels wrote. Sadly, he never got to meet Elvis in person.

Charlie Daniels has been a supporter of the military for a long time. He recorded a song called Still in Saigon which is about the plight of the Vietnam veterans. It was the first song to actually support the Vietnam veterans. He also recorded “The Charlie Daniels Band Live From Iraq” in 2007 which was recorded on his second trip to Iraq to play for the troops.

Charlie Daniels held an annual concert called the Volunteer Jam from the 70s through the early 90s. Many greats have also perform at this concert event. Some of those greats include James Brown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Garth Brooks and  Billy Joel just to name a few.  Volunteer Jam is now coming back as an even larger event on August 12 for the show's 40th anniversary and will benefit The Journey Home Project and The Predators Foundation.

Did you know that Daniels played music with rock/folk legend Bob Dylan?   Before Daniels formed "The Charlie Daniels Band," he played the bass and guitar on three of Bob Dylan’s albums ‘Nashville Skyline,’ ‘Self Portrait’ and ‘New Morning.’ Daniels actually released a tribute album to Dylan in 2014.
