Two weeks ago, 74 people were shot in Chicago – nine of them fatally – over one single three-day weekend.

This weekend, another 60 fell victim to gun violence, including six who were killed and a three-year-old boy who was shot in the leg but stabilized.

This weekend’s bloody death toll in the Windy City included a 15-year-old boy who police say shot himself in the head while fleeing from the cops, along with two teen boys found dead in a field Sunday night after being reported missing on Friday.

Another 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were both shot and killed in separate incidents Sunday night.

A three-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital and treated for a bullet wound to the shin after he and six others were shot while sitting on a sidewalk Friday night, a shooting police say may not have been gang-related at all.

As of Monday morning, local police had only arrested three people in connection with the five-dozen shootings that marked the second bloodiest weekend so far in Chicago this year.
