A middle school English teacher’s dirty little secret is out, and it’s absolutely horrifying.
According to the affidavit, on May 27, Alexandria Vera, a middle school English teacher, confessed to police that she had been engaging in illegal sexual activities with a 13-year-old student at Stovall Middle School in Houston, Texas, referred to only as J.T.
KPRC-TV reports that she turned herself in the following Wednesday, but was later released from jail.
The website detailed:
Vera, an English teacher, admitted to conducting a sexual relationship with the student since last September, authorities said. A report said the student was in her eighth-grade English class. The DA's office said the officer received school records showing the student to be younger than 14 when Vera began the sexual relationship.
According to Vera, she and J.T. met at summer school in 2015, where he allegedly asked for her Instagram name. Vera said she refused to provide J.T. with that information, but said he still managed to find her account and proceeded to add her on the social media site. She claims she declined the request.
When classes resumed in the Fall, Vera claimed that the student would flirt with her and make inappropriate comments. She, on multiple occasions, had to tell him to stop, she said.
The local report explained:
She stated that in September, she noticed that he was not in class and became worried about him. She said she sent him a message on Instagram to check on him and remind of him of an assignment due. She said that he replied and this led to him asking for her phone number.
J.T. proceeded to ask if they could hang out, to which Vera agreed. She picked up the boy and informed police that they kissed in the car. She also reported that the next day, she went over to his house because his parents weren’t home, where they reportedly had sex for the first time.
More like she sexually assaulted the kid.
According to Vera’s account, she and J.T. began a regular affair and had sex “almost on a daily basis.”
When I first heard about this my initial reaction was “Where were this boys parents?” But it turns out J.T.’s parents knew about what the defendant called a “relationship.” The police report states:
[The] Defendant said that in October the school had an open house and this was when she met the Complainant’s parents. Defendant stated that after the open house, she went over to Complainant’s home, and was introduced as his girlfriend to the Complainant’s parents. Defendant stated that the parents were accepting of their relationship and she even invited to family gatherings after that point.
They even knew that their son had impregnated his 24-year old teacher. Vera informed police that “his family was told of the pregnancy, and they were very supportive and excited about the baby.” She told the officers that her and J.T. were in love.
Can someone tell me how are these people are allowed to be parents?
The documents also state that she became pregnant earlier this year but terminated the pregnancy the next month after Child Protective Services visited the school and questioned the pair about their relationship. She denied both the relationship and the pregnancy at that time.
When the police confiscated her phone for forensic analysis, they found messages consistent with what Vera had disclosed in her report.
She has since been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.
