A Goodwill store in Washington received an unexpected donation last week: 3.75 pounds of marijuana, valuing approximately $24,000.

Q13 FOX reports employees at a Goodwill location in Monroe discovered the stash inside a cooler.

The Monroe Police Department tweeted about the incident, writing the employees were “surprised when they opened the lid”:

Although marijuana is legal for recreational use in Washington, the Oregonian notes the donation is “likely illegal.”

Washington law states that adults over the age of 21 can purchase and possess up to an ounce of marijuana. The 3.75 pounds found in the cooler amounts to 59 ounces above the legal limit.

The Oregonian said it is unclear whether the person who dropped the marijuana off at the Goodwill store intended to donate it, or whether they merely forgot their cooler was filled with weed (probably because they were stoned).
