$1.5 TRILLION House Spending Bill Includes 21% Pay Hike For House, Senate Staff

Hey, courageous American! Are you strapped for cash?

Are you frustrated that the Biden administration's jab mandates for truckers, their oil and gas drilling restrictions and blocks, and their wasteful handouts to “green energy” cronies are forcing YOU to lower your living standards, change your investment plans, and work even harder to maintain your life and legacy to your kids?

Well, perhaps you should have considered the public sector – specifically, the plum position of a House or Senate staffer or intern – because the new, Democrat-created, monster of a “Spending Bill” that’s passed both houses includes a 21 percent (you read that correctly) hike in wages for bureaucrats in those slots.

The $1.5 trillion omnibus bill passed on Wednesday would allocate $5.9 billion in additional funding for the allowances and salaries of House and Senate staff - including $774.4 million for the Members Representational Allowance, which funds the House budgets and includes staffer salaries, and another $1.7 billion for House operations. It also forks over another  $1.1 billion for Senate staffer salaries and operations and $7 million for Senate intern pay.

Because nothing says, “We love you,” quite like handing out more of your cash to parasites (the very parasites who continually help the politicians work on new ways to take even more of your cash), while you experience economic austerity.

By the way, the new cash injection is slightly fungible within MRA parameters. While the the bill doesn't actually give a raise to members of Congress (they themselves already earning" $174,000, more than three times the average American worker's salary of just under $52,000), their staffers (who often serve as their personal assistants) and their family members, many of whom wind up on the congressional staff payroll, will all get bumps.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and House Dem Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) love it, implying via a March 9 join statement, that this not only will see current underlings get more cash, it will see the politicians HIRING more staff.

This will also help us recruit a more diverse workforce that reflects the American people we serve while keeping those on staff who have built up institutional knowledge essential to successful policymaking.

Pay no attention to the split infinitive “will also help” at the opening of that. The staffer likely was in dire need of a pay hike, and just couldn’t handle the pressure of it all.

Likewise, pay absolutely no attention to the mild reference to racism within their hiring policy, couched in the cozy rhetoric, “a more diverse workforce that reflects the American people we serve.”

How about allowing the “American people” the freedom to serve themselves and reflect their own diverse interests and needs, you elitist prigs? Your arrogation of what should be other people’s prerogatives and earnings means that, by definition, you are preventing them from reflecting their interests, and you are telling them what their interests will be.
