Wendylou Napoles, mother of drag queen kid Desmond Napoles – who goes by the stage name “Desmond Is Amazing” – posted on social media it was “disturbing” when she found a convicted pedophile’s blog in which the sex offender described her son as “hot.”

According to Gay Star News, convicted pedophile Thomas Victor O’Carroll penned a piece on the popular blogging site WordPress under the headline, “Desmond is truly amazing — and hot," praising the 11-year-old child as a “pretty, young boy” and a “sexy kid.”

Here’s just one excerpt from O’Carroll’s blog (which I won't link to for obvious reasons), in which he claims drag queen kids aren’t dressing up just for self-expression, but also to "turn on" adults.

Let’s face it, when a pretty young boy tells the world he is gay and dances sensuously in front of grown men, wearing vampish dresses and makeup; when “she” strips off items of clothing or goes on stage scantily clad right from the off; when dollar bills are accepted as “tips” from an audience apparently wild with excitement; when all this is going on we are getting far more than just a celebration of gender diversity or an innocent display of precocious performance talent.

And that’s great. It is wonderful that a rare niche has been found in the modern, developed world within which at least a few kids can truly be themselves, in ways that deny neither their gender feelings nor their sexuality.Being a drag queen, or a drag princess if you will, puts it right out there, in the open for all to see. It says, loud and proud, “I am a sexy kid, with sexy feelings. It’s totally cool for grown-ups to get turned on by me. I love it. That’s why I do this stuff. It’s great. It’s fun. It’s me!”

O’Carroll went on to blame “panicky conservatives” who he says are “desperate as they are to pretend that kids have no erotic dimension.”

Understandably, Wendylou Napoles wasn’t too keen on a convicted child predator going on about her 11-year-old son’s physical attractiveness online, writing in an Instagram post that the blog was "extremely disturbing."

"We do not approve of his statements and have written to [WordPress] several times but they have yet to remove it. It is highly inappropriate to speak of minors in this manner," Napoles said.

But critics have been quick to point out that…well, dressing your son in mature women’s clothing and letting him dance lewdly in front of adult men is, at the very best, simply asking for trouble -- particularly of the creepy sex offender persuasion.

And we've been warning about it for years, ever since Desmond became a cultural symbol of “self-expression” several years ago, when the self-proclaimed “drag kid” helped headline the 2015 New York City Pride Parade dressed in women’s clothes at just 8 years old. It wasn’t long before he landed his own segment on Good Morning America, where the now 11-year-old donned a blonde wig, yellow dress, heels and heavy makeup to catwalk down a runway in front of a crowd full of cheering adults. The media hailed him as a hero.

Thought Wendylou insisted in her social media tirade that her son "does not do the same kind of suggestive drag as some adult drag queens choose to do," disturbing footage emerged on Instagram in December showing her son dancing on stage at a gay bar in Brooklyn wearing a crop-top, gyrating under neon lights as adult men threw money at him (a video O’Carroll specifically linked to in his blog as proof of Desmond’s attractiveness, in fact). The whole scene was so revolting, even some regular attendees of the nightclub posted their disgust on the establishment’s Yelp page, saying they were so disturbed that they actually walked out of the event.

But despite dressing her son in sexualized clothes and letting him dance like a stripper in front of grown adult men, and despite O’Carroll penning in his blog that that’s exactly what he found attractive about this kid in the first place, Wendylou still insists it’s not her fault that pedophiles are now targeting her son for their sexual fantasies.

“[Critics] claim we are purposely attracting pedophiles,” Wendylou maintained. “That is like saying a woman attracts rapists. It is victim blaming.”
