10-Year-Old Boy Among 16 Wounded in Chicago Weekend Shootings, At Least 4 Others Dead

Nick Kangadis | March 22, 2021

A 10-year-old boy was wounded in one of the shootings that occurred over the weekend in Chicago. 10-years-old! While people are focusing on children in cages at the border — or “migrant facilities,” depending on which administration the elitist media is talking about — children are shot every week in the Chicago and other major cities around the country. It’s just sad that these American kids don’t get the sympathetic national stories that children coming into our country from elsewhere get. Both deserve attention, because both are important.

At least four people were shot dead and another 16 were wounded in weekend shootings across the Chicagoland area. This is down from the previous weekend, which saw at least five people murdered and another 35 wounded in a possibly the most violent weekend of 2021 in Chicago.

Here are the names and ages of those who were shot and killed over the weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Marquel Robinson, 24

Isaac Hidalgo, 39

Kelvin Edmonson, 23

Darrell Holiday Jr., 27

As for the year-to-date totals for Chicago weekend shootings, 53 people have been murdered and another 248 have been wounded in Chicago in 2021. The Chicago Tribune, which keeps a tracker of all shooting victims in Chicago, is reporting that — as of March 15 — 567 people have been shot this year. That number is 139 more than at the same point in 2020, which saw the second most shooting victims in the last 10 years of tracking data.

Who knows? Maybe it’s going to be like this forever, because the local politicians aren’t much help and big cities are only going to become more violent in the near future.
