It’s that heady mix of high-and-mighty political thuggery and mercurial “social media standards.” What could go wrong? Karl Racine, the District of Columbia’s Attorney General, has issued a subpoena telling Facebook to release all info it has on those who – GASP! – have posted what the social media giant claims is “COVID-19 misinformation” So, we can assume the trove includes any official FB…

The Ohio legislature on Thursday, July 1, passed a state budget containing a provision that appears to protect medical service employees and providers should they refuse to perform abortions or sex-change operations.  But that’s only half of the story. The budget bill is called H.B. 110, is over 1,000 tedious pages long (believe me, I spent hours scrolling through it), and as Raymond Wolfe of…

As with most of the pop media, Democrat senators from key timber-industry states who might protest Joe Biden’s criminally-connected Bureau of Land Management nominee are following the example of pop band The Go-Gos: their lips are sealed. The nominee is Tracy Stone-Manning -- who, if she were a character in a Roald Dahl tale, might better be called “Aunt Spiker” – to be Director of the Bureau…

Despite their “research” indicating that their “climate goals” only can be achieved by forcing people to love their subservience to government austerity orders, a group at the University of Leeds, UK, want to usher in the lightless future. Just for you. Reason’s Ronald Bailey explains: In order to save the planet from catastrophic climate change, Americans will have to cut their energy use by…

Remember those days when leftists pretended to care about “misogyny” and human rights and fairness, even as they turned blind eyes to the misogynistic behavior of left-icons like Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, and film producer Harvey Weinstein? To quote the Talking Heads, today, it’s “same as it ever was.”  The latest double-standard comes in the insane practice of claiming biological males and…

Big government Manhattan progressives adored it. Left-leaning record store owners and booksellers piled up the CD and tomes. The glitterati showered it with eleven “Tony” awards. It grossed more than $650 million from people who voluntarily shelled out their cash, and now, this cheesy glorification of one of the most corrupt and disreputable Founding Era men just received what might be the…

People who love government must be thirsting for what might be called the CensorChip. Such an invention would be inserted into every human brain, allowing Big Tech overlords and freedom-hating politicians to constantly update the chip with new words, ideas, and images they want purged from polite society. That would make it easier for Google-Alphabet’s pet censoring machine, YouTube, to…

After the late May Senate failure of a proposed “Commission” to “investigate” the chaos at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 that Democrats almost uniformly call an attempted “insurrection” -- and perhaps in response to the fact that no one has been charged with “insurrection” and the first judgment handed to any suspect was a three-year period of probation for “illegal demonstration” – Nancy Pelosi…

In March, I reported on the upside-down priorities of San Francisco’s ruling political class, as they take and take more tax money, mandate $15-per-hour minimum wages that drive jobs out of the city, block new private housing projects, and don’t clear human waste from sidewalks, even as they admit to showering an astounding $61,000 per tent in 2020 on “Tent Cities” for the homeless during the…

New analysis of Florida’s “SB 2006”, recently touted by Governor Ron DeSantis as a state “ban on vaccine passports and local lockdowns,” indicates that DeSantis either did not read the entire bill, or he is not being completely honest with Floridians. On May 3, DeSantis’s press office issued a celebrated release stating, in part that he had signed SB 2006 so that: In Florida, your personal…
