A story such as this is charged with the potential for puns, but, at its heart, it’s not amusing – more akin to a black hole down which bureaucrats, politicians, and corporate cronies want to pour your choices and hard-earned cash. RealClearScience’s Ross Pomeroy reports that – to no one's surprise – electric vehicles aren’t a very good idea if you want to be mobile in a cold climate. He notes…

Thanks to former President Donald Trump opting to not only disregard the U.S. Constitution’s separation of powers but also to stab the Second Amendment when he unilaterally “banned” so-called “bump stocks,” the Biden administration on December 27 had the unconstitutional “Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms” (BATF or ATF, choose your poison) issue new specifics on a set of 2022 “…

Remember the game show “Let’s Make a Deal”? Many Americans participated in the show, accepting the product that host Monty Hall offered, or, taking their chances with the next “mystery” offering that might be worth more. The risk was higher than real life, because the players couldn’t do any research – but, then again, they joined the audience without investing money. Instead, they invested time…

No doubt many D.C. politicians and their leftist media allies view the non-profit policy analysts at Americans for Tax Reform as a pariahs, always popping up to protest the vampiric government feast. But to many of us who are forced to pay for that ever-growing beast, Grover Norquist and his team are spiritual and ideological inheritors of the patriots who won the American Revolution. And…

In their zealous drive to create a command-and-control “utopia” via state and local government edicts, California leftists appear incapable of learning from their past mistakes. Even as the state readies to enforce a cadre of new statutes that will decrease individual liberty and harm free market exchange, they refuse to recognize that this same authoritarian, money-grabbing mindset already has…

Euphemisms are the lifeblood of all political tyrannies. In the U.S., the IRS is called a “service” – but, just whom they “serve” is fairly easy to discern, especially if you decline said “service.” The Federal “Communications Commission” actually doesn’t facilitate communications; it censors and it imposes fines, claiming “ownership of the radiofrequency spectrum.” The “Department of Defense”…

The numbers “42” and “80” are well-known to those following the “immigration debate” this week. The number 42 pertains to “Title 42” - the federal hot potato that Delphic Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on December 19 decided to “block” the Biden admin from no longer enforcing. To be more specific, it’s about Section 262 of Title 42 of the U.S. Code, which “prohibits entry into…

Beyond the seemingly ready-made crypto-strangling legislation that Senator Liz Warren (D-MA) and other Constitution-flouters pushed within days of the Nov. 11 FTX bankruptcy announcement, one of the most curious and disturbing facets of the Ukraine-tied, media-adored, and now-collapsed crypto-currency exchange has just come to light. On December 22, Politico’s Ryan Lizza, Rachael Bade,…

Something changed in Rhode Island this week. Thanks to collectivist members of the state legislature, to leftist Governor Dan McGee (D - who officially claims his primary goal as governor is “getting shots in arms,” as opposed to actually abiding by the U.S. and state constitutions), and to an Obama-appointed judge, Rhode Island residents and gun-sellers are going to suffer even more attacks on…

During the course of 2022, many Americans climbed a steep learning curve concerning the “Climate Cult, World Economic Forum, Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG), Technocratic, Anti-Oil” nexus eagerly attacking freedom around the world. And part of that learning curve involved the calamitous Sri Lankan government ban on nitrogen-rich, man-made fertilizers – a ban that resulted in massive food…
