Mark's undergrad degree is from Cornell. He has law degrees from SUNY Buffalo and Harvard. He practiced law in NYC, Mexico City, and Paris, before doing a stint as a pro tennis manager and tournament organizer. He returned to his college town of Ithaca, NY and got involved in real estate development and politics.

In 2011, Mark moved to Pecan Plantation, TX, and in 2018, to Oak Island, NC.

Mark's a dog lover who has used his small plane to do many dog-rescue flights. He speaks Spanish and French.

On Morning Joe, Howard Dean says he refuses to call the shooters in the Paris rampage and similar incidents "Muslim terrorists."  According to Dean, the Koran does not support their actions.  He adds that ISIS is a cult but not a Muslim one.   Dean also decries the fact that the shooters had Kalashnikovs despite France's "tremendous" gun control laws.

On Morning Joe, Donny Deutsch asked Republican Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart of Miami "why do you say an inane thing like that?" Deutsch's diss came in the context of an exchange in which Diaz-Balart told him Donny that his notion that the Cuba deal was "liberating" for the Cuban people was "naive."

On CBS This Morning, top oil analyst Tom Kloza predicts gasoline prices by Christmas will be in the range of $1.99-2.29 per gallon. In 2011, the MSM mocked Michele Bachman for saying that if she became president, gas prices would fall to under $2/gallon.
