This was ugly. On his MSNBC show, Chris Matthews criticizes Jeb Bush, who will be speaking at Liberty University, for "stooping" to "that evangelical crowd"
On the Ed Show, former Colin Powell chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson, criticizing senators who oppose President Obama's Iran deal, says "guys like Chuck Schumer, whom I'd like to -- I won't say what I'd like to do to Chuck."
On Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski says of Marco Rubio "that's a little boy" compared to Hillary Clinton.
We conservatives have countless beefs with Chris Matthews. But let's give the guy his due: in contrast with the younger generation of liberals inhabiting MSNBC, the American left at large--and the Oval Office--Matthews is more of an old-school Cold Warrior, and, dare I say it, patriot.
And so it was that on Hardball, Matthews flatly declared "I hate" the Castro regime.
On Morning Joe, as she says goodbye and thanks RNC Chairman Reince Priebus for his appearabce, Mika Brzezinski makes faces indicating her disapproval of his comments.
On Morning Joe, Associated Press White House correspondent Julie Pace claimed that one thing that made Hillary hesitate in deciding to run for president was that she "worried that her candidacy would block out Joe Biden who is quite a close freind of hers." When Joe Scarborough expressed skepticism, and the panel responded in kind, Scarborough said "good. I'm not the only one laughing at that."
On Morning Joe, Thomas Friedman says that Barack Obama: "actually knows what America looks like from the outside in. And he can actually see America even to some point from the Iranian perspective."
On her MSNBC show, Melissa Harris-Perry frets that US tourists to Cuba would be a "plague," inflicting their cultural hegemony. Professor John Gutierrez sets her straight.
For Iran, Mike? On Morning Joe, reliable Dem flack Mike Barnicle manages to keep a straight face while lauding the Iran deal as an "extraordinary feat." He did so despite poll numbers displayed showing that a huge majority of Americans don't think the ayatollahs will abide by the deal.
