I have to admit I was surprised by parts of President Obama's speech last night at the Tucson memorial for the victims of those lost in the shooting tragedy. At other parts, I couldn't take him seriously. Even if it was an uplifting message. Actions do speak louder than words. He told those in attendance that "discourse did not cause this tragedy", which was shocking to me given the lefts non-stop relentless attacks on the likes of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, the Tea Party, and Conservatives. He also made the statement "The force that divides us is not as strong as the forces that unite us." While this all sounds great, it really does not hold a lot of weight coming from a person who has been one of the most polarizing presidents in most of our lifetimes. Overall, with my all cynicism aside, it was probably one of the better speeches I have heard from him. The crowd on the other hand, in my opinion, was disrespectful- as they treated it more like a pep rally with loud cheers, standing ovations, and even passing out t-shirts. It also had the feel of a campaign event. But who am I to judge the grieving process of others, I may just be old fashioned in my thinking. However, some great news did come from his speech last night,"Gabby opened her eyes." If you would like to see President Obama's full speech, head on over to Breitbart.tv.
