Thursday outside of 51 Park Place in New York City--the location of the proposed Ground Zero Mosque--Eyeblast.tv interviewed Kamal Wahad who is a personal friend and follower of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and security guard of the vacant building. During the interview Wahad said there is no point in relocating the mosque, and that the funding "will come from Muslims around the world." Wahad says he's known Rauf for "twenty-something years" and has been a follower the entire time. When asked why the Imam will not meet with New York Governor David A. Paterson about relocating, he stated " there's no point in relocating because people need to understand what is Islam, and what isn't Islam." Many have also questioned exactly where the funding for the Mosque is coming from. According to Wahad, it will "come from Muslims all around the world", and believes it's a private matter and that it's not necessary for people to disclose who their contributors are. Wahad also said that the Imam has spoken out against terrorism in the past. However, just 19 days after the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, Rauf blamed U.S. policy for it happening in the first place.  When questioned if Rauf made clarification on the comments that U.S. policies was an "accessory" to 9/11, he responded, "does he really have to?"
