You would think illegal immigrants would act out of caution and rationality in fear of being caught. Well, it appears this past week they tossed that precautionary measure into the wind. First, an illegal immigrant raped a girl outside of a Seattle grocery store. At the time we wrote a blog post on it, it was assumed he was deported on 4 separate occasions from the United States. Since then that number was confirmed at 9. Then, you had the illegal immigrant who was on the run from molestation charges, and finally caught at a hotel about an hour away from the original location wearing a t-shirt that said "I'm hiding from the cops". Genius. Now, an illegal immigrant rear-ends a MA politician while drunk, and the politician isn't even mad about it. In fact, he still supports illegals. Last Thursday, Massachusetts State Rep. Mike Moran was rear-ended by an illegal immigrant. The immigrant, 27 year old Isaias Naranjo, was also driving under the influence when he slammed into Moran. When Naranjo was asked to show identification, he laughed. Naranjo's blood alcohol level was .25 at the time of the accident. Moran, who is pro-illegal immigrant, said that the crash didn't change his mind even though (as the video points out) the intoxicated Naranjo could have killed him in the process. Moran refused to talk to the media about the incident until recently.
As My Fox Boston points out, state police were inhibited in how they could respond to the incident. They were unable to notify immigration that Naranjo might be illegal due to legislation passed 3 years ago that stripped them of their immigration enforcement powers. Naranjo is being held on $50,000 bail.
