Whoopi Goldberg Uses GOP Debate as an Excuse to Trash Reagan

[See NewsBusters for more.] View co-host Whoopi Goldberg on Thursday used the Republican presidendial debate as an excuse to trash Ronald Reagan, assuring people that “he wasn’t all that.” Reading from note cards, Goldberg began, “I just want to point out that, you know, he did some things that were not particularly good for the country.”  Assailing Reagan’s 1981 firing of 11,000 striking air traffic control employees, Goldberg attacked, “The air traffic controllers were on strike. You know, I feel like if the air traffic controllers are pissed, you want to hear what they have to say. You listen to them.” She sneered, “Instead of saying, 'what's going on?' He said, 'you have two days to come back to work or we're firing you.'”
