On April 19, 2012, President Obama's former Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, appeared on the YouTube based show The Point and delivered a message saying Republicans who attack the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) want to kill children and their sanity must be challenged.

Jones says, "Anybody who says they are willing to kill American children, put them into the ground, poison our children for a job, we need to challenge them and their sanity."

Full transcript:

"My name is Van Jones, I am the president and co-founder of RebuildTheDream.com, I’m also the author of the book Rebuild the Dream. My point is this, if the Republicans want to keep attacking the EPA and keep attacking environmental protections for our children by talking about how they’re all ‘job killers’, I say ‘bring it on’, because the EPA has probably saved more American lives in the past 3 decades than the Department of Defense. You know, when you’re keeping mercury, and poisons and pollutions out of our kids bodies, right, you are protecting America. I want to ask Republicans, you call us job killers, well, your policies, I call them people killers- kid killers. How many American children are you willing to kill per job? That’s the question I have for the Republicans that keep attacking the EPA."

He continues, "We should defend the EPA, we should defend the environmental protections that are a part of our heritage as Americans, and anybody who says they are willing to kill American children, put them into the ground, poison our children for a job, we need to challenge them and their sanity. Since this appearance, Jones has reiterated the same talking points during speeches.
