Soviet Russia Belonged 'to the People,' Claimed Ted Turner Documentary

In March of 1988, CNN founder Ted Turner produced Portrait of the Soviet Union, a seven hour documentary about how the Kremlin "belongs to the people." Narrator Roy Scheider gushed that the Soviet Union was a "great success." He also bizarrely asserted that "freedom to worship" is enshrined in the Soviet Constitution."
