Disarm NYPD members held a flag burning event at Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park Wednesday night.
According to the New York Daily News, the group burned the American flag to protest what they characterized as the nation's legacy of institutional racism and imperialism abroad.
Many members of the group covered their faces as they lit an American flag on fire. They were chased from the park by a group of angry pro-flag supporters.
Witnesses say a pro-flag demonstrator snatched the burning American flag before others chased the anti-flaggers away.
