The liberal big three networks continued to cover up the Katie Couric deceptive editing scandal, involving her gun-control documentary “Under the Gun,” Tuesday evening by again refusing to cover it. The media blackout continued even though Couric announced early the same morning that she takes responsibility for the misleading edits. In stark contrast to the networks, Fox News has covered it extensively.
The edit in question was inserted silence between when Couric asked a question to gun rights activists and their actual answers. The effect made it seem as though the activists were stumped by her questions and were slow to answer. During Tuesday’s edition of The Kelly File commentator Brit Hume sounded furious:
BRIT HUME: Well, because she waited so long. When you see what the documentary showed, which was a question posed by her to a group of the people she was doing this about, and they -- the gun rights advocates. And they sit there, as far as the documentary showed, in stony silence! Apparently stumped by her question. That didn't happen!
This wasn't a matter of something being edited out, it was what was edited in was the silence! There were immediate responses from a number of the people present to her question. And the documentary— that piece of the documentary, was a falsehood.
Hume seemed to be severely disappointed in Couric’s actions and shocked she would defend her deceptively edit her work. “And at first, she defended it. Why or how she could defend it, I don’t know. I don't understand that,” he stated to Megyn Kelly.
It wasn’t just the English-language networks who seemed to be taking part in the scandal’s cover up. The Spanish-language networks, Univision and Telemundo, refused the controversy air time as well.
