On five occasions between March 19 and March 27, NBC News ran selectively edited excerpts of the 9-1-1 call George Zimmerman placed the night he shot Trayvon Martin in Florida.

NBC viewers heard Zimmerman seem to volunteer the information that Martin was black; in reality, as the full transcript shows, Zimmerman was responding to the dispatcher's request for a description: "Okay, is this guy, is he white, black, or Hispanic?"

After NBC's deception was publicized on NewsBusters and by MRC President Brent Bozell in an appearance on FNC's Hannity, NBC News announced an internal investigation, and later issued a two-sentence written apology. But they have yet to make an on-air correction or apology to viewers who were misled by their shoddiness.
