In an August 15, 2005 appearance on Hardball, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan went on at length about how the U.S. was using Iraq "as a base for spreading imperialism." An impressed Chris Matthews suggested: "You sound more informed than most U.S. Congresspeople, so maybe you should run."
