MSNBC brought two authors aboard Monday’s Morning Joe who charged rural voters support Donald Trump over Joe Biden because they are a bunch of racist rubes who don’t understand their own interests.

After co-host Mika Brzezinski outlined how Joe Biden’s upbringing gave him greater affinity to rural people than Trump, Tom Schaller, co-author of ‘White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy,’ listed the supposed traits which make Trump the most appealing to rural residents: “They are the most racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant and anti gay geo-demographic group in the country.” He want’s done, also charging “they don’t believe in an independent press, free speech” and are “the most strongly white nationalist and white Christian nationalists.” Plus, “they’re most likely to excuse or justify violence.”
