Wrapping up election night coverage on MSNBC, Chris Matthews announced that he was "glad" that Hurricane Sandy hit New York City and New Jersey, apparently for helping enable Obama's re-election: "I'm so glad we had that storm last week... [because] the storm brought in possibilities for good politics." On Wednesday evening's Hardball, Matthews apologized: "I said something not just stupid, but wrong."
